Obi's studio, ten years after...

I quit my band two years ago or so. Back to school for a doctorate in education and some new certifications for the next phase in my professional life. But now my boys are playing music, both naturals in their own way, and it was time to restore the studio to working order.

The desk left the window end a few years ago, and now faces the low wall of the stairwell. This was done to free up rehearsal space.

There is a beater of an old Dell under the cheap 40" screen for surfing and storing photos. The newer Dell below is now the music computer. Basic new windows 7 machine.

And the view down the stairwell:

I finally bought a 5.1 receiver two years ago, an open box yamaha, and so the mixing position became our family movie zone as well -- we don't have a TV in the house (~20 years, no tv) so we venture out to the upstairs of our garage where the studio is! Tonight, the boys will see Indiana Jones for the first time!

Here is a shot under the mixer to show where the receiver wound up living. A compromise of cabling...

And a shot of the 32.8:

The rest of the studio contains our family library and my LP collection, which has been mostly reorganized, and a band- sized playing area.

A shot from the top of the stairs:

So there we have it! Ready for the next generation of Obi-Wans:
