Notch Filter and Vocals

What is this use for in cool edit 2.0?
One of the artist that I recorded has airy vocals and a "hum" in his voice in some parts. It is not the mic but the person. Does anyone know what I can do to make this low where it cannot be noticed?

You can use Cool's EQ to sweep for the frequency(s) the vocalist's hum is at (if it's just one frequency, that is - if the hum changes its intonation with each note, you'll never get rid of it.
