Noise Issue

As often in homerecording my tracking and mixing takes place in the same space. However I do isolate the guitar vocalist etc with foam etc but it seems on really quite acoustic guitar and other things where the gain on the mic has to be pretty high I pick up some noise from my computer. Any ideas on how to sound proof the computer so when it starts whirling it isn't to loud?

put the computer in a another room - that is the easiest way.
extension cables for all your peripherals.

They make "whisper fans" for computers that are supposed to be much quieter. A better option imo would be longer cables so you can put some distance between the mic and the computer.
