Okay, I've been looking around for a while and decided to step up and join. So, here I am. Fresh fish. Take your best shots now! Come on...any and all insults are welcomed. I've seen some pretty good insults on other BBS. Let's see what you guys can do!!!

err....why for obvious reasons? Cant beat the sm58! i use mine for everything, including hiding it under my pillow incase someone breaks into my house and i can use it as a weapon.

Don't get me wrong...the SM 58 is a tremendous mic, but mostly for live sound reinforcement in my opinion. I would have a hard time choosing my SM58 over my Neumann in practically any situation...unless I was trying to capture the sound of a mic falling 5 feet to the ground!

The SM 58 is great, but not so much for the studio. I love my Beta57 though. I use that all the time for scratch vocals...and would use it for BG vox as well.

As you pointed out, it would work well as a blunt object too.
