Hey...I didn't hear your earlier version to make any comparison...I am not a regular listener to this type of music, so keep that in mind...
I really liked the music production and the singing of the lead vocal (the vocal makes me think of artists I heard in the 80's, I mean that to be a compliment)...
the biggest things that distracted me in a negative way: the intro speaking part - I've heard this type of thing before and I know it is supposed to be subdued, but the speaking intro just seemed a bit too low in the mix to me (I couldn't hear what was being said at normal volume). I didn't really dig what sounded like three-part harmony in the repeating chorus, something just seems to be clashing there and producing "unsmoothness" (maybe two-part harmony would be better, or turning down one or more of the voices would produce a smoother overall sound for the chorus).
