new house

I currently have a little 8x16 room that is fairly sound proof in my garage. I double layered 5/8" rock over carpet on the studs and that seemed to work. Well I just bought a new house with a three car garage and there is already a 12x17 room that I would like to soundproof best possible. The walls inside the garage are easy, I will build walls outside of those walls and double door the room. The exterior walls are my problem. What would be the best way to soundproof the exterior walls without actually building another wall. I do not want to loose space and building another wall on the exterior is not an option. Any suggestions?

Without getting into serious construction...the only thing I can think of would be to add sheet rock to those walls. Mass is your friend in this situation. Try a search for sound proofing.
