I´m about to upgrade and don´t know if i should go P4 or Amd.
What´s the best to work with Audiophile?
I want my system to last about 3 years with good performance and have about €1250 to spend.

I'm very happy with AMD and Audiophile (WinXP Pro, Logic Audio Platinum). I will stay with AMD when I upgrade...if I ever need too.

just to balance the poll.

i had an amd. i switched to intel when i upgraded and i'll never go back. but if you do go with amd, make sure you get a quiet cpu fan to go with it. the stock fan that came with my xp1900+ was loud as shit.

i do not have an audiophile, but i know one.

cheaper, noisier, runs hotter, hogs up more power from the PSU...

As far as I can tell, AMD can't touch Intel nw that the newer P4's have hyperthreading.
 
brzillian, i think you were the guy who said this, but it stuck with me (even though i didn't heed the advice when i first heard it) and i heeded the advice on my second daw, i wanna echo that here.....

buy and intel proc and motherboard, and never worry about compatibility or stability, just make music.

Oh Yeah...Well the Hammer is coming soon and it will be faster and louder, so there.
