Networking a DAW with another machine...

...I am wary of doing this as I have heard that a network card / modem can cause blips in your recording. But for making transfers between my two computers easier I think I may have to do it. Has anyone done this and did it cause any problems?

I'm sure tons of people have done it. I'm doing it. No problems.

I think the only issue is that when you have a network card's connection enabled but not connected to anything, the cpu continuously polls the network card to see if you've attached a network cable. I've only experienced this problem on my laptop (mp3's skipping), so it may not be an issue with desktops, and either way, as long as a cable is plugged in, it's all good.
