Hey everyone the past couple of days I have been writing lyrics for my band, we are just getting together and I was wondering if anyone could help me out by writing a song for me,.. I know, I know,.. I should do all of my own stuff but I wanted to see if I can make GOOD music to others lyrics better than mine. Anything from creed type lyrics to linkin park type lyrics. Thanks if you help me out.

What's the name of your band?
What direction in the vast 'Rock' field are you guys headed.
Some other particulars would be nice to know. What ever you can offer.

I've never did anything like this before but always wanted to do a custom song for someone.

Just lyrics is all you want, right?

badgas,
im looking towards like Creed or Incubus,.. hmmm i dunno whut to call there rock,.....like alternative i guess...but ne ways,.. i dont want no hardcore 'System of a Down' or n e thing like that,.......and yes just lyrics,.....I wanna see how it will be making music with others lyrics,...jus a new expierience I wanna try I guess,...and yes i do believe in god, but dont put no lyrics bout him or nothing because some songs sound reall church like when people speak of god,...

oh yea and for the band name,....were workin on it,....if any1 has any ideas let me know,...and again the lyrics can be really anything,....

Hi Eternal.

I'm tossing this one up in the public domain. Free to anyone.
I put music to it and would like to hear your's or anyone else's version before I post mine.

Feel free to alter any of the lyrics, structure or anything if you decide to use it.

He's a Rocker.

The steel bars slid open, and the man dressed in black stepped in.

Said, “Come with me son and be quick, as we have a long walk to begin”.

Down a dim hall past the yelling crowds, the two of them silently tread.

The look in the young man’s eyes, told a story that was best left unsaid.

The noose slipped over his black shrouded head, and the knot placed behind his ear.

Seeing only darkness beneath the blackened hood, his stance showed no grief nor fear.

He stood there in silence while the others looked on, with a strange anticipation.

He had wielded his weapon on a crowd of youth, now he stood there in expectation.

He’s a dark rocker, steel studded and bold.
He’s an iron rocker, his soul he had sold.
He’s a cold rocker, and will never grow old.

((((( Lead Solo )))))

He’s a dark rocker, steel studded and bold.
He’s a iron rocker, his soul he had sold.
He’s a cold rocker, and will never grow old.

Someone stepped near and quietly asked, if he had any last words to say.

If he had wanted to repent or of sorrow to speak, on his last mortal day.

With a grunt of disdain and a shifting of his feet, he took a long deep breath.

In a voice sharp and clear that echoed from hell, he laughed in the face of death.

I’m a dark rocker, steel studded and bold.
I’m a iron rocker, my soul I had sold.
I’m a cold rocker, and will never grow old.

The floor fell away when the drum roll began and the noose and shroud ripped from his head.

Through a thick fog he crashed to a stage waiting below as he grabbed up his axe to shred.

The cool evening air shimmered as he played, he rocked on all through the night.

When it was over the man in black stepped forth to lead him away from the dawning daylight.

He’s a dark rocker, steel studded and bold.
He’s a iron rocker, his soul he had sold.
He’s a rocker, and will never grow old.

============================

This came out in 4/4 time for me, about 120 BPM.
I know it's long but at that speed it was just over 3 minutes.

I've had the idea of a song like this ever since I saw Alice Cooper do his hanging act. Thanks for the motivation, Eternal.
Now it's done.

If you make a million off of it, just give me credit. ;) That's all I ask.

hi
badgas
nice style of writing
how long you been crafting your skill?
very catchy
now this is only my opinion about the word"rocker"
but i'm maybe wrong, your song maybe a worldwide hit one day
i think "rocker" is dated
metal bands nowadays just talk about fear, creepy feeling like linkin park ( just my 2cents )
afterall i really like the twist in the end
you setup the scene like we gonna see a man get hanged
and twist it into a surprise
this is not an amateur work,a promising level of writing skill

there are some people here could hit bigtime
you're one of them
cheers

Thanks for the compliment istyle.

Yeah, I know it's a dated song and that's something that should be steered away from if one is looking for a market.

Like all the Clinton and Regan Jokes I've collected.

As far as crafting my skill,,,,,
I've been scribbling out songs for,,, well, since I was around 14. I'm 53 now.

The twist you mentioned has been in my mind for years.

The song is a take off from an Alice Cooper show I saw in the 70s. Around the Billion Dollar Baby time, I think. He'd do these acts on stage, and getting hung was one.
Thus, the dated song, and the twist.

It shouldn't be to hard to change a few words around.

He's a taliban,
No, that's dated too.

He's a cowboy,
No, Bon Jovi did that.

A gothic morbid sorta guy......

Lemme think on it.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and comp.

Thanks for the invite, Istlye.

I posted in both forums for you,
Songwriters for you lyrics, and in the MP3 about your music/vocals/sound.

Thanks again.
I like it.
