Need help with recording vocals

I have the following problem :
Whenever I record vocals using my sennheiser 835 mike and crate mixer, the vocals seems to distort a little whenever it gets loud.
How could I overcome this? Is it the fault of the analog-digital convertor on the sb live card?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

...hard to say. I'd think it's probably either the pre's in the mixer or the signal's too hot going into the SB. While the converters in the SB aren't that great, I don't think they're going to distort unless they're getting too much signal.

Try to even out your channel gain and your main gain in the mixer. If one's cranked and the other one is low, that's probably it. If that's not the case, make sure your levels aren't going to clip no matter how loud you sing. If you have the means, a hardware limiter is great for this.
