So basically all i have is 50$ to spend on a pair of headphones...i would like them to be closed back and have a descent enough frequency range to allow me to do some very rough mixing as i cannot afford monitors...if you were on this budget what would you purchase?

You can't go wrong with Sennheiser. You may be able to find a pair of HD 280's on eBay for around $50.

Harvey how do these compare to the more me headphones?
Different purpose. He's asking about phones for mixing, not tracking. The MoreMe's work great for tracking; not too much bottom end or top end, but less fatiguing for long tracking sessions, and less prone to breaking. The Sennheiser's have a nice balanced sound, but they make my ears sweat after a while. And they're easy to break if you use them for tracking.

The Equation Audio 3070 phones are a whole different deal; they clamp your head like a vice and have a huge bottom end, but not much in the mids and highs.

If I had to choose one set of phones just for mixing, I'd probably go with one of the Sennheisers.
