Here's a pretty basic problem,

have a keyboard (E-mu), a midiman audiophile connected through USB with my labtop.
I'd like to record some tunes into Reason, but although Reason recognizes my audio card driver (ASIO M-audio USB audiophile ASIO), I can't seem to figure out how I can record music into the Reason sequencer?

Thanks a bunch guys for helping out!!!!! ;-))

Is the midi interface properly recognized by Windows?
If so, you should be able to select the midiport by going to
Edit -> Preferences -> Midi Page -> Port:

hei christiaan,

hoe gaat ie, alles kits in oranjeland?

yep, live in boston, but happen to be belgian ;))
well, good point, but that's the problem, my midi preferences in reason only give me a "no midi" option and the port is grayed out, so apparently something makes them not communicative, do you have a solution here?

hartelijk bedankt (tx.!)

Gaat zijn gangetje in Oranjeland. Wel kurkdroog na de hittegolf.

If you can't select a midiport in Reason, it's not a problem with Reason but most likely a driver issue.
There have been more reports about the midi interface on the USB audiophile not working properly...

M-Audio Tech support is aware of this problem. Not sure in which cases it happens and if they have a proper fix yet. I'd say: contact M-Audio, give them relevant info like which OS and which chipset is used on the motherboard and keep us posted.

Unless someone else has something to add..
