I was in a Rush tribute band aged 16 in 1981, I had a couple of older guys, a monster drummer and bass player. Alex was my first hero and I learned all his riffs and chord progressions and saved my pocket money up for an analogue Ibanez bi mode Chorus pedal. It used 2 9 volt batteries but gave me the Alex sound. I had absolutely no idea about what the drummer and bass player were doing time signature wise. I just had to wing it and feel it. Ha ha.. . Great musical education as a young kid
