Nady SPC-25 battery-powered condenser mic

I just bought this very cheap battery-powered condenser because that was all I can afford and it was on sale.

The thing is that it functioned perfectly, gave a little extra hi frequencies.

but I changed the battery and suddenly it doesnt function anymore.

I think I could make it function again normally but today I cannot make it function. I dont remember if I changed the battery while connected but maybe I did.

The question is if a battery powered mic can have a short circuit ?

Thanks for your help.

Musicians Friend is sending me another one.

Did you put the battery in backwards?
And you can try to give it phantom power if the mic has an XLR connection to see if it will work.

haha, no, I am sure I put it the correct way.
Initially I thought that it wasnt making contact.

And, no, I cannot give it phantom power since it is specifically battery-powered. You just connect it to an XLR input with no phantom

thats why I bought it because I dont have any phantom power.

Thanks.

OK sorry I can't help any further, You'll just have to wait for the replacement.
