Nady RSM-4 with Shure SM57?

I'm trying to improve my guitar sound,

and I discovered the Nady RSM-4 and saw that it had great reviews.

I was wondering if it would sound good if I combined the RSM-4 and my SM57 on my amp? (yes, my amp sounds good too).

That should be a good combination. I use a CAD Triton 7000 and an SM57 with good results. The RSM-4 / SM57 shouldn't be a whole lot different IMO.

I concur. A ribbon (even a cheap one) along with one of the standard amp dynamics (57, i5) is my favorite approach.

Keep in mind--mic placement is still paramount. But now you've got twice the variables. So don't be surprised if you spend twice as long nudging mics by a quarter of an inch at a time until the two sound best together.

(BTW--folks will often ask: Are you tracking clean or heavy guitars? I didn't ask on purpose. I find this combo works equally well for both sounds.)

Usually, I would agree with the ribbon-SM57 complimentary combo but, in my experience, the RSM4 sounds too close to the SM57 to be complimentary. If cost is an issue, try the RSM5 for the same price.
