Hi,
I currently mix to a Sony RCD W100 CD recorder. However, I can notice a drop in quality when listening back compared to the music coming straight off the tape. I'm thinking of buying a Mytek stereo96 converter to improve the quality. I'd run the output from the desk into the converter then the output into a coaxial to toslink converter then into the Sony via fibre optic.
As far as I know, if the converter is good quality, the recorder itself doesn't have to be great. Would this setup give me good results? If not, what are the alternatives.
Thanks
James
Edit: it seems the Mytek has an optical out so a spidf converter wouldn't be needed.
