Hey I got a new guitar and amp. A 70s series Mexican Strat and a Laney LC50. I'm really digging them.

I really like the wood grain on that strat. Looks like you got a good one! How does it sound?

the strat sounds good to me but not great. im thinking of trying different pickups. this is my first guitar that came set up nicely out of the box. i feel no need to tweak anything.

the action is nice and low.

i can get some very nice clean tones from the laney. im still getting used to the drive channel but it sounds better than most amps ive had.

the strat is easily the sweetest looking one ive ever had.

thanks guys. this is the only option for getting a strat in natural with a maple board except the USA 70s strat which costs about twice as much.

That is a beautiful piece of wood they carved that guitar from.

Beautiful strat. That's the combination I've always wanted, except that I want a black pickguard and pickups. If you replace the pickups, what ones are you leaning towards?

well ive read good things about the custom shop 69 pickups wound by abigail. i dont have the money though since i blew everything i had on a trip to prague.

i have a set of tex-mex pickups that ive never used. i dont know if the tex-mex would be an improvement though.

i wish i still had my set of squier pro-tone pickups. those were so sweet.

for now i think i'll leave it alone and work with the tone it has.
