hey guys, i just picked up my first midi keyboard controller and have made my first attempt at home recording...

heres the song http://www.myspace.com/rocketshipproject

my question: when i record my acoustic, i get that fuzz you hear in the back ground. the more acoustic tracks, the worse it gets. i can nearly get rid of it by fiddling w/ levels and stuff, but then my tracks come out all quiet.

how do i record w/out or get rid of this fuzz? it doesnt happen when i record midi, just acoustic guitar...

fyi: i directly input my guitar into the computer.

the fuzz is ground noise from the guitar, and more likely, from your pre's.
the only way to get rid of it is to get pre's with more gain and less self noise.

until you can bet better mic pre's, you're probably just going to have to live with the hiss.

+1 to using a mic, but a low output mic (like most dynamics and ribbon mics) will probably only add to your hiss problem.
