My new computer arrived this morning. 
I don't have a sound card yet, but I've narrowed the choice down to two options:
1) MOTU card running Digital Performer or Logic
2) Digi OO1 running ProTools 5.1 LE
I'm going to be recording live bands, with little or no MIDI sequencing. I've been told the ProTools software is the best, hands-down, for audio editing. I'm also told that MOTU w/Logic is a more powerful setup.
I believe that Logic can run with the Digi OO1, but I'm not sure about ProTools running with the MOTU box. I know PT LE is limited to 24 tracks, and that Logic can do more, but I think 24 tracks should be enough.
All that said, I'm open to all suggestions and interested in all reasoning for how to best equip my new baby. Thanks for any and all replies.
