MXL 990? What do you think?

I've been looking for an affordable condenser mic for some time and I ran across this on Musicians Friend website. I read several reviews on it and
most is very positive. I don't really know A whole lot about them and was wondering if anyone has used them. I own Shure mics '57 & '58. I also have 4 or 5 other cheaper mics but not A condenser. I plan on using it to record Vocals and acoustic guitar mostly. Thanks for the advice.
 
This mic has been discussed here ad nauseum. Basic concensus is that it's a decent mic for the money, works well on some things and not so well on others.
 
I think if you can afford to double the price of the 990, you can get more than twice the mic. maybe try an SP B1
