Here is the problem:
most of the songs I record are in Drop D tuning...so its pretty low and heavy to begin with...what I'm curious about is if anyone has any experience with getting a strong low end by using a multi-band limiter in the mastering stage. Granted...there could be issues at the mixing stage...or surely good solid playing...but if anyone has any general guidelines they follow as a starting point for this type of procedure...it would be great...mostly...what bandwidth to you attempt to compress/limit? 80hz and below? 120hz and below? etc....thanks...
