MS drum miking

Hey guys,

I don't understand of Mid-side recording of drums work or how you do it...is it any good? How many of you guys do it?

I've done it on the overheads. I prefer a spaced pair of cardiod condensers.

I like M-S miced drums

I've had good results M-S micing a set from the front and a few feet out. But as with all micing techniques it depends on the type of music, the room and the instrument itself as to what technique and/or mic to use.
