Does anyone have any detailed opinions on the MOTU 2408mkII?
I am trying to decide whether to replace/upgrade my current 16-track blackface ADAT/Analog Mixer system and add-on an interface to my PC (866Mhz/128MB RAM/40 GB ATA100).
I am thinking about tracking on the ADAT's and mixing those tracks on the PC. Would also like to copy tracks from the ADAT, edit the track, move it back to ADAT. I picked up ADAT/Edit and so far, its right up there with the 3630 compressor. Worthless.
Can I accomplish my goal with the MOTU 2408? Can it move 16-tracks of sample accurate data back and forth or at least 4-tracks at a time accurately? Will it work with the blackface adat's? I have n-track also, will this work?
I have read posts on this site and motu web-site but can't find any real "scenario's" for it.
Because I am starting a major recording project in the next week or so, I'd really appreciate any "real use" scenarios for this setup or any other options so I can make a rational decision as soon as possible.
