Monitors-- the ones you look at, not the ones you listen to

Just a quick question. Are flat panel (lcd) monitors less likely to cause noise/interference than the older picture tube type monitors? I'm trying to avoid having to hit record then run across the room or into another room to play giutar, it would be so much easier if I could play while sitting at the desk.

Well yes, good panels produce less EMI and are better on your eyes. I just love my 22" Samsung. But a bad panel on analog connection is worse than a good quality CRT monitor.

I currently use 2 - 22" monitors on my mac when i record. 1 for tracking and the other for the meter bridge in the software (DP5). I havent had any problems with interference.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping to upgrade soon and have my eye on a 21' flat, just wanted to be sure I was heading in the right direction.

Yeah, i defineatly noticed less interference when i went to flat screens. When i had two crts, it could get bad, now i forget that happens so i've noticed a sizeable difference for sure.
