hi all!

recently got meself a pair of ESI nEar05s and have it hooked up to my MAudio 1010lt

in the manual it says to use TRS Balanced or unbalanced connections..

currently im only using TS connections in the inputs.. does it make any difference? and why would it need a balanced TRS input in the first place if its just one signal going down?

thanks for your wisdomssss~ :confused::confused:

Well There are only ballanced and unballanced connections since you have TS Connections which are Unballanced you are connecting it correctly .....

Cheers

The Delta 1010LT only has unbalanced connections so you're fine. They are just saying that you can hook it up either way.

You're right, there's only one signal and a ground whether it's 2 wire (balanced) or 3 wire (unbalanced). There's several advantages of balanced signals, for one they are less likely to pick up RF noise because the ground has a shield around it. Also, you can run long lines of balanced cables for mics, like from a stage way out to the mixers at a rock concert. But for what you're doing, what you have is fine.

trs is balanced, ts is unbalanced. There is no such thing as unbalanced trs. you have no problem with your connection.

Actually there is unballanced TRS but it doesn"t apply here ... stereo Jacks are sometimes used with TRS and so are Unballanced Send/Return , and Headphone usually use TRS ....

They also use TRS Female jacks in Guitar pedals and Guitars with active electronics to switch on the battery .... But doesn"t apply here ....
