Now that I look at the stuff on mixing, I realize that in order to burn a stereo CD I need to MIX!!

But what software can I use to do this on my computer? Is there decent shareware out there? Is Sound Forge XP any good at all for this? Is it possible to do all the mixing on the computer?

PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

Yes you can do all the mixing on the computer.

I'm not that familar with SF but to my understanding it is a good editing program but it's not for mixing.

You can use many programs to mix -Cubase, Logic, Digital Performer, Cakewalk etc...However these are not shareware. Perhaps somebody else can help you there.

You basicly need a multitrack software UNLESS- you are mixing straight from a mixer into a 2 stereo tracks software.

n-Track is shareware. Download from http://www.fasoft.com

Unfortunately the shareware version is limited and won't mixdown which is exactly what you want to do. If you're a little creative, however, you can find a way around this limitation. Personally I'd recommend just buying it though as it's only $35. Compare that price to Cakewalk or Cubase!
