Mixing Down To 2 Tracks

Hi everyone.

I'm using a Fostex R8 with a Fostex 350 mixer. Total analog...And I want to mix from analog (8 tracks) to digital (2 tracks on my computer). Could anyone recommend a computer program that I can use to mix down to 2 tracks?

I could be wrong but, I beleive you have to mix down to 2 track in the fostex and then send from your analog outs to your sound card using a Y cable (unless you have RCA conntectors on your card).

As far as programs, there are quite a few to choose from. I have doen this the Cubase LE.

right now I am using wavelab essentials for this. There is also soundforge and for free audacity. There are tons of other options I am sure.
 
Wavelab Essentials... since you say you have it, can you tell me if you have the ability to make a complete red book copy? Track info, spacing, etc..

I just picked up Wavelab 6 and it is on the way. But I can't help but think that I could have done just fine with Essential (especially $400 cheaper).
