I've been looking at Gibson 175s, 165s and even check out Epi clones.
I finally went with a Washburn HB-155 only had it 2 days now but what a
guitar. I have a couple other Washburns a classical and a HB-30 which
I have souped up extensively and use probably more than the 20 plus guitars
I already have. That is why I was looking for a deep body acoustic.
The 155 plays like butter, I've never had a guitar setup out of the box so perfectly. After a close inspection the finish and craftsmanship is excellent.
The Bibsby actually works great, how ever it only lowers string tension.
When I checked the insides out I thought the body had a slab running vertical
across the length of the body but just under the arch top. I couldn't figure out how the body could be so vibrant with this type of set up. I stuck my finger through the F hole and found it was not a slab but only 2 braces kind of like what you find on a mandolin.
This guitar has some of the richest tone I've ever heard in guitar.
I'm not sure what they use for pickups but their extremely clean and quiet.
I went to find a pic to post a link to one and found one going for peanuts at the moment on ebay for half of what I paid for mine.

They are a proto type or trade show model so there are only a few around so if your looking for a jazz or clean country type guitar you might want to check this out.
