Midi transport control.. DAW?..stand alone unit?

I'm begining to realise that having a seperate midi "Transport" unit would be quite good..i.e. something that has play / record / fast forward etc. buttons.

is there a reasonably priced unit out there?

Check out the Frontier controllers or most all of the MIDI keyboard controllers by any of the major manufacturers. Midi transport control is included on most modern MIDI keys.

The Frontier controller is wireless. A keyboard controller is gonna need either USB or a MIDI interface to control your DAW.

Check your documentation to see if an Alesis ADAT LRC Remote Controller will work with your recorder. A number of manufacturers adopted this little transport.
