MIDI plays one channel lower

my Cubase 4 transmits one channel number lower than what it says, i.e., transmits on ch 1 when it's set to ch 2, etc.

I can't imagine what could be causing this. any help I can get would be appreciated.

midi transmits 128 different levels... some go from 0-127 and some fro 1-128... your units just dont coincide at this point... check in the preferences file of the prog... there's most likely a tab to switch it back and forth...
