Midi hiccups

I asked this question in the Cakewalk forums, but haven't got a response. I'm hoping that the midi fellas can help me out with this issue. I just got the Motu Microlite to use with my Mackie Control Surface and some midi keyboards. I get a lot of clicks and stuttering when I play the midi instrument in the Cakewalk softsynths. It looks like the Midi is still notated, but the sounds cutting in and out from midi are kind of annoying. I tried messing around with the buffers, but that hasn't worked.

Any ideas?

My computer specs are:

Intel Q6600 Quad chip
4gig ram
XP-64 OS
RME Fireface800
Motu Microlite Midi Interface
 
Check the midi sample rate of your sound card and the sample rate of your software. Clicks and pops that sound like static occur when sample rates between software and hardware do not matched. This should alleviate the problem.:)
