I finally got my second phonic firefly last weekend. Setting it up and getting it to respond properly was easy. But when I tried to record some acoustic guitar on top of an existing purely Midi file consisting only of 3 tracks, I got very strange dropouts. The file is playing and recording, stops for 3-4 seconds, continues to play, stops again and so on. I thought it might be related to recording the Audio, but it happens as well when only playing back the Midi file. I was using one of the Midi outs of the phonic to my MU100R and from there back to a pair of ins into the phonic.
I had not tried, how Midi is working with one interface alone. I am using the 2 808's into the firewire port of my Del 1720, who did not have any problems or dropouts recording and overdubbing 4 Audio track.
And my OS in Vista proefessional.
Any ideas what could be the reason for this problem.
