Microphone placement techniques

Do you know were to find good article (or tutor, or online course) about microphone placement techniques, with example pictures (or even sounds) for different instruments.

p.s. I found some good online courses (with sound examples) on http://www.artistpro.com , just have to register (for free).
for mixing, recording, etc. (but not mic placement tech.)

yea,i did, every roud leads to it but i'm looking some with pictures, like tutorial... or course or something
 
Nice one, Apa. You know, it's criminal that the best answer to all newbie mic questions, hell, the best manual on the subject, is buried here to be potentially lost forever because of the way this board is set up.

maybe not so good idea is to make some FAQ, or document or something with that thread, in version that is more easy to read, and to learn from...

i do agree that this is thread with exellent information...
