T toast New member Sep 20, 2003 #1 Hi, I just bought a Joe Meek VC2 and on the back it has a hidden ohm switch which can be set at either 50 or 200 ohms. How should I set this switch to get the best sound? Thanks Torsten

crazydoc Master Baiter Sep 20, 2003 #2 Plug in a mic, set it on 50 ohms and listen/record. Then set it to 200 ohms and do the same thing. Use whichever sounds best. Different mics may require different settings.

D DJL Self Banned Sep 20, 2003 #3 Yeah, do what crazydoc said. Also, most mic manuals tell you how many ohm's the mic is.
