Micing an archtop

I'm looking for mic and mic placement suggestions for recording an archtop guitar with f-holes. Thanks, Grinder

Archtops can be pretty finicky (did I spell that right?)...

Experiment, experiment...

I've never had the "by the player's left ear" thing work well with archtops...

Probably a condesnser a foot away pointing in the general area of the bottom half of the instrument and another around the 7th fret pointed at the neck joint for starters...
