well i figured it was my mic, because i have a little cheap $50 microphone. it records great, but sometimes when my vocal comes across the track at the very beginning it sounds like the volume is turned up really high and then it goes back down(like my mic needs compressing or something). i try fading it, compressing it with the plugins, but it still sounds loud at the beginning. i hope that's clearer.
