Hey Guys,

I've been out of the market for a while...and not to sure what mics to look at.

I'm looking to purchase my first condenser for vocal and percussion use mostly.

$100-200 US price range. Set up is Mackie 1202 mixer (using its preamps) and Audiophile 2496.

The mxl v67 looks pretty nice...

Thanks.

For those applications, in that price range, I like AKG C2000B (not 3000B) Check the free ads forum- somebody's selling one cheap.-Richie

I have NT1, AT4033, and SE2200 in this price range. I would go for the SE2200. its classy and seems to work on everything! I have the CAD179 as well. It can be a bit too neutral and therefore a bit boring. great for percussion though.

In the cheap ones I would recommend for vocals Studio Projects B1 or better one C1. Next Rode NT1 but not Behringer B1 and B2 since their reviews vary. Some people are excited, some others little disappointed.
Next cheap and good ones are Marshall Electronics MXL V67G, Apex 430 and Oktava MC012.

If you would like to spend more money here are next options: Marshall Electronics MXL 2001, Oktava MC219 and 319, Electro-Voice RE20, RE16 and 635a, Audio Technica AT3035, 4033 and 4047, CAD Global Audio GXL2400 and M179, Rode NT1000, AKG C3000B a maybe also C2000B. All these are recommended by many people for vocals.
