Mic Stand...

I am looking for a cheap, but well-made, sturdy mic stand to purchase with my digital recorder. Does anyone have any suggestions on which type of stand would be best? Not too expensive, but not too cheap. I am open to opinions.

This may be overkill for what you want but it's a nice stand; and still less expensive than similar pro stands.

Depending on what you need (small or large boom), On Stage (I think) came out with a series of small booms that are pretty stout (DR Pro Series I think it's called). Most of the budget tripod/boom type stands aren't particularly sturdy, or more precisely, they tend to tip over.

I love the AKG and K&M mic stands. Ive got 10 of them and couldnt be happier. They are expensive though.

For the price of 2 of those AKG stands you could get one of those mega monterous stands shown above.
