Mic + Full Setup (RnB Vocals)

Hi all,
I'm looking for advice on a Mic and just anything else I am going to need to start recording more professional sounding vocals.
Basically I have a limit of $1000 for everything,

I have done some reading on the subject, things I need will be:
Mic:
Mic Preamp:
Cables:
Sound Card?:

EDIT: I WILL ALSO NEED A POP FILTER AND A Microphone Isolation Panel (I believe that is what it is called)

I am starting from nothing, so I am unsure if I am missing anything, I already have software but thats it. Please if I have missed anything let me know and I would love some help on the subject.

You can pretty much disregard a mic preamp if you get an interface (sound card) with preamps built in.

I'm not going to give you any recommendations. But I will ask questions so people can give you better suggestions.


What are you going to record?


How many tracks will you be needing to record at once?


What genre do you play?
