Hey guys,
I am looking to purchase some cables for recording on my firepod and am a little confused as to what is good and what isnt. I need approximently 8 mic cables. I dont have a bunch of money to spend either (Being as Ive spent most of it), but I want to know what is my best bang for my buck.

I found this on musicians friend (10 cables = $39.99): http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/fg=141/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/338006/

I also found this on ebay (10 Cables = $49.99): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7337681876&category=29947&rd=1

I need some help. Which is better? Does it matter? Or am I heading in the wrong direction... Anyone got any comments or ideas? Thanks!

I've heard lots of good things about Blue Kiwi cables, but they're definitely gonna cost a bit more. I think you should be fairly safe as long as you dont go completely cheap and pay like a buck each for em at Radio Shack or something.

Alternatively, if you have a bit of skill with soldering, it'd probably be cheaper in the long run to make your own cables. DIY = fun and cheap.. how could you go wrong?

I agree about the soldering, that's what I do. However, given a choice between your two options above I'd probably go with the eBay auction. That's because I can see that those cables use Neutrick connectors, and those are the kind of connectors I use when making my own cables. You also might want to think about getting a couple more expensive cables and then the rest less expensive like that eBay auction.
