Mg82cx insert recording question

I am recording using the direct out "insert jack" (1 click in). How do I get stereo sound in the monitoring headphones?

The first two channels on the MG82cx (that have the inserts) are mono. If you have more than one source (mic and instruments etc) you can pan the tracks L or R and make a stereo mix. If your source is stereo capable you may be able to use channels 5 and above on the mixer which have stereo jacks L and R.

Thank you. If I use the insert jack to make a direct out to the daw the input mic comes in mono in the monitoring phones. If I pull the direct out line out and rec from stereo out the input mic now comes through in both ears on the monitoring headphones. So it must be something with using the direct out line that then causes the mic line to come across mono in the monitor.
