MD8 help/question

I recorded something onto a 2 track mini disc in my md8. when we were done we listened back to it. sounded great. i left the mini disc in the machine when i unplugged it and went home. I go to turn it on to mix it down and it says that it is now a blank disc! this has not happened before. what did i do wrong?

I think...

the "writing the TOC" process is done as part of ejecting the disc. By powering down before you ejected, the TOC did not get written, and therefore you lost your data.

Digital! Don't you love it? It's not like your Dad's analog Portastudio!

Wow, you are totally right. I see it in the manual now. I guess i never made that mistake before and so didn't run into that problem. My md8 is my backup/default/sketch recorder.
