Matching condensers vs. Non matching

Yeah, Shure said if they're inside warranty then it's free. If they're outside warranty it's $85 per mic. I'll sooner sell them and try a pair of those Peluso CEMCs before I pay that.

Does anyone know if Shures come with warranty cards that have to be sent in? I would assume they do. If that's the case, then I know for sure that the warranty cards were never sent in, but I don't have them. I bought the mics used, but I know for a fact that they were never actually used. Do you think if I called up and gave them the serial numbers they would be able to do the warranty for me?
 
It could not hurt to try. $85 per mic actually sounds very fair to me. Your mic will probably come back better than brand new in many ways:)
