Marshall MXL "Desktop Recording Kit"

I thought at first this was a USB kit, and wasn't interested, but it looks like this is a "real" condenser mic made to run either on 9V battery or 48V phantom. One review said this is based on the element of the MXL990 and the electronics of the 603.

I guess my question is, is it worth my $30? And...(yeah, anyone who's seen my posts recently)...will it help me get my drum tracks down? hehehe...
 
well...here's hoping it is. the gavel fell at $26 + shipping. Figure for that I can give it a shot. and it might become my go-to field recording mic (for clean recording environments).
 
I am quite happy with the MXL V63MBP mics that I have and use them on all sorts of things including drum overheads, vocals and for stereo capture mics.
