Marshall JCM800 question

Hi,
I've got a JCM800 2205 model from the 80s. Just recently got a second, as I found a great deal. Only difference is my original amp's clean channel wasn't affected by the Master Volume on the amp.

The new amp's Clean channel IS affected by the amp's Master Vol. Seems like clean channel is a bit warmer too. Is it modified? Any ideas?

I have a JCM800 2205 and the Master Volume affects both channels for overall volume. I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. The Presence and Reverb under the Master section affect both channels as well.
