Manley Pre's - Opinions?

Hey Guys,

I've come across a real good deal on a Manley Mono-Pre. I've heard nothing but good things about Manley equipment and I just wanted to get a second opinion from you guys. Let me know whats up!

They make premium quality stuff and I'm sure their mono mic pre is no exception.

But isn't that Avalon in the pic a mic pre too?

Maybe buy it and turn it over on eBay...

Yeah the Avalon is nice but I'm lookin to get some higher end equipment. Would the Manley be much of a step up from the Avalon?

What is the Avalon doing that you think needs improving?

Typically, Manley would be a little step up compared to Avalon. However, the Manley preamps are kind of the weak point in the Manley line in my opinion. Not to say they are bad, but the real Manley stuff happens in the EQ and compression areas in my opinion.

Aye, manley they are, but I like them too (sung to the tune of an old irish spring commercial)
