Making Instrumentals

Hi, I 've heard there is a way to use sound forge to make instrumentals. I would like to practice vocals of specific tracks and I would like to eliminate vocals of recordings to sing over it. This is not for recordind, just practice so i can hear how I sound over pro recordings. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

Man it's impossible to remove vocals from a track!

Well, it's not quite impossible, but it's hard to do it in a satisfactory manner and still have the backing tracks sound right.
