Magix Music maker 2015 recording issues...

Hey I just had the demo to magix music maker 2015 and everything was going fine then I upgraded to the full version and now when I hook up the mic it records everything digitally through the mic. Like when I hit record it records the whole beat and everything unless I mute the beat and it's not just back ground noise coz when I turn the phones right down it still records the beat at the same level. ..does anybody know what I need to do to fix this? Maybe a setting or something?

Mac or PC? Using the built in sound of your computer?

If you're using the built in sound card there may be something in the audio settings you can change. On Windows machines in the audio settings there's often something called "What you hear" or "Wave out mix" that makes whatever is going to your speakers also go to your recording software. You probably just need to select your mic as the input source.
 
Oh sorry no I'm using a tascam soundcard and Pc..it's weird ive never had this problem with any software
 
You may need to tell your software (Magix) to use the Tascam drivers. Upgrading may have reset it to the stock Windows audio drivers.
 
I think I checked all that and it was coz I was running my headphones through the tascam but I'll try again ..thanks
 
Nah it's all set to tascam us-366.. Don't know if this matters but the digital input is coming up no valid signal
