I did the Pro FX 8 , af first I thought it was good but after using it a while and comparing it with the previous DFX 6, I prefer the mic pre's on the DFX 6.
If you are willing to spend a bit more money why not try out the Mackie onyx range.
I picked up the older Mackie Onyx 1202 second hand for £300 . Its a fantastic mixer, really nice warm mic pre's.
I know the Mackie onyx 820 i has come down in price , I have not yet tried the newer Onxy i range as yet but I hear they are very good.
