mackie 1402-VLZ w/ motu 828mkii

how you i send the mackie into the ins on the motu, so i could use the mackies preamps since the motu 828 only has two preamps?

at first i was thinking presonus firepod, but if i go with the motu, i already have the mackie and will be able to upgrade easier i think with its features.

Use the inserts on each channel as a sort of "direct out."

for my cables between the inserts and the motu should they be trs or just mono?
